McDonald’s – a leading player of the international QSR industry, is all set to change the parameters of the game by making its products healthier. This is the era of health-conscious gym-rats, from middle-aged foodies to young adults- now everybody is obsessed with their health. Keeping this evolving scenario in mind, McDonald’s has given out orders to make the iconic McDonald’s items healthier.

McDonald’s India (West & South) has already begun to rein-in the sodium content in its fries, nuggets and buns, as well as the oil content in its sauces. Keeping in mind the success of sourcing raw materials locally, this move will add to the already substantial market of McDonald’s India.

According to reports sodium content in fries is going down by 20 percent, by 10 percent in nuggets and buns and oil content in the sauces will be down to 25 percent from 67 percent, bringing down the calories by up to 40 percent in the sauces.

Even the meat is not spared by the rectifying eye of the new regime. Chicken suppliers for McDonald’s are now only allowed to administer government-approved antibiotics for treating sick chicken which goes a long way to make McDonald’s healthier. Now you can enjoy your favorite McAlooTikki Burger or Chicken Maharaja Mac without worrying about burning the extra calories at the gym.
