Sieve Bend DSM Starch ScreenPosted by YUBO Filtration on August 26th, 2024 A sieve bend screen is a DSM screen designed for starch separation and dehydration applications. It is widely used in starch processing applications such as corn, potato, wheat, etc.
The sieve bend DSM starch screen is made of a wedge wire screen. It adopts a food-grade stainless steel structure, which is clean and hygienic, and can effectively separate starch.
Our DSM screens are cut and bent into wedge wire sieve bends. Common arcs are 45°, 60°, 120°, etc. The curved screen structure provides a higher flow rate, larger capacity, and better filtration performance.
![]() How Does a Sieve Bend DSM Starch Screen Work? The DSM starch screen operates on the principle of gravity and centrifugal force. The slurry or liquid containing starch flows over the curved screen surface. As the material moves across the screen, the liquid and finer particles pass through the narrow slots, while the larger particles are retained and slide off the screen.
This process is highly efficient, as the curved design increases the screening area, allowing for more material to be processed in a shorter time.
Key Features of a Sieve Bend DSM Starch Screen▪ Curved Design: The curvature of the screen maximizes the screening area and improves the efficiency of particle separation.
▪ Slot Size: The slots in the screen can be customized to specific sizes, ensuring precise separation according to the needs of the process.
▪ Static Operation: Unlike vibrating screens, the sieve bend operates without any moving parts, reducing maintenance needs and enhancing durability.
