On Women?s Inner Strength, Femininity and Endurance- All About you

Women all around the world have faced a lot of tribulations throughout the millennia of recorded human existence, enabling movements like ‘feminism’ to take hold in much of the western world.  Centuries of oppression by a male dominant society restricted women’s roles as pioneers of science, technology, art and business, especially in a country like India, where the past and the present walk hand-in-hand. However, in recent times the veil of male dominance has lifted somewhat: Women are free to pursue varied career choices and find, sometimes to their own surprise, that they excel at various disciplines just as much as (and in some cases more than) men. To sum up women’s inner strength, femininity and endurance is virtually impossible, like the infinite cosmos we exist in.

But that does not say anything about the turbulence faced by women in recent times: Ideas pertaining to male superiority still find majority polls in many places, as well as backward thinking which runs parallel to oppression. Beyond that, there are stereotypes and societal restrictions: Women should cover their skin, they must not go out at night, and the list goes on and on.

It is not easy to be a woman. Childbirth is just a small inconvenience compared to the avalanche of oppression that is faced by most women in every instance of their lives. When a simple walk to the grocery store can turn out to be life-threatening, you do not accept rides from strangers. Beyond that, there are more problems. The list goes on and on. And then we wonder why women are so careful and defensive.

Sometimes, the demons inside are much worse –meaning, that sometimes due to such concerns everyday life for women can become harder than is necessary, even without an external stimuli. The constant battle that runs inside the mind of women is theirs alone, no outside help can topple the balance and make a difference: it is something each woman overcomes by finding courage in her heart and boldness in her mind.

To find this strength you really don’t need to go far. It is all around you, and all within you –because, your life is all about you.

And that’s the message communicated by Deepika Padukone’s brand ‘All About You’ in its latest campaign, which urges women to find the strength to conquer the world –inside themselves. For women have found this inexhaustible strength inside them time and time again.

In the video “Tere saath hai tu” plays in the background as several modern women make their way to their dreams, overcoming trivialities on the way. The ad aptly captures the essence of the campaign and illustrates how one can conquer any predicament in life when one believes in oneself. The ad reinforces the idea that ‘you are your biggest strength’ and encourages young women all over to believe in themselves to find that inexhaustible strength god saw fit to only grant to women.

All About You is all about ‘feminine’, ‘romantic’ and ‘carefree’ –the archetypal modern woman, combined with the boldness and fierceness that hides beneath the sweetness. Inspired by Deepika’s own personal style and grandeur, ‘All About You’ really is all about you –the young women of India. In her own words “The new campaign demonstrates and reinforces the brand’s core philosophy of inner strength, modern femininity and elegance.”

Afterall, the difference between men and women is something to be cherished, as everything that exists today in the human perspective, exists because of these basic differences.
