This kind of packing are made by the metal plates which are normally placed in such a ,manner that once when the fluid passes through it then it takes a highly complicated pattern of flow. Different type of structured packings There are different types of material used for the construction of this structured packings. A structured packing is available in varied sizes and these are neatly stacked as columns; it mainly offers a low pressure and a high efficiency and capacity than a random packing. This sort of packing is more expensive then the random packings. This kind of packings is mainly used for distillation, absorption, and even for the liquid-liquid extraction. This type of packings is widely in use for the different purpose ranging from laboratory use to the large scale process system. They are also in use for the solvent recovery, close boiling component distillation, Azeotrope distillation, etc. Solvent strippers Solvent Strippers on the other handare the most widely used strippers which are being used nowadays because these work faster, and a few strippers can go a long way. Methylene-chloride is the kind of strippers that can be used for the resin type and other thick materials. There are a various types of other solvent strippers available in the market, N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP), dibasic esters (DBEs) and combinations of toluene, acetone and alcohol are few most widely used sorts. One important thing that has to be kept in mind for using the solvent strippers is that they work very well when they are wet thus the process of slow evaporation is necessary for the better working of a solvent stripper. Precautions to be taken while using solvent strippers These kinds of strippers are the most aggressive sort of strippers which mainly work very fast and these are being preferred by most of the industries these days. A very high level of precaution is required for the use of strippers like Methylene-chloride-based strippers. The other sort of strippers are less harmful and can be easily worked with, however, another thing that has to be kept in mind is the fact that the solvent strippers are highly inflammable, and necessary protection is needed to be maintained.
