Look for Gluten Free Restaurant in Loveland

Eating out can be tricky when you are on a gluten free diet. Luckily, there are many ways to find gluten-free restaurants in Loveland, and we outline our tips below. Don’t worry if you have celiac disease, are sensitive to gluten, or have a full-blown gluten allergy—there are fantastic Loveland restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious meal without worries.

1. Google the restaurant you are interested in, go to their website, and check out their menu. Many of Loveland’s best restaurants have gluten-free specials.

For example, a Loveland restaurant specializing in Southern comfort cuisine has an entire menu for those with gluten allergies and sensitivities (which can also be enjoyed by everyone). The dishes include starters such as zesty artichoke dips with fresh vegetables, a fried oyster basket, and sautéed crawfish with Cajun spice, vegetables, and saltines—all of which are gluten-free. You can also sink your teeth into fried green tomatoes, catfish with two side dishes and a salad, asiago shrimp and grits, paired with beans and rice, and many more. Got a sweet tooth? You will love gluten-free desserts like a flourless chocolate cake and gluten-free banana pudding.

2. Use an app. It’s easy (and often free) to download apps that show you gluten-free restaurants in Loveland or anywhere in Colorado. These apps are very handy especially if you are new to the area and don’t know where to eat, or if you are traveling to a new city and want to see which restaurants cater to a gluten-free diet.

3. Use these tips from the Celiac Support Association. They are meant to help people on a gluten-free diet navigate the restaurant scene.

•    Call ahead. Don’t be shy to ask if the restaurant you are interested in going to can accommodate your gluten-free request. Ask if the kitchen and staff understand safety protocols and can manage cross contamination risks.

•    Consider visiting the restaurant during more relaxed, off-peak hours so that the staff can give your request more attention. They may need to call in the manager to talk to you.

•    If the restaurant does not offer a separate gluten-free menu, be respectful and ask for recommendations. Introduce yourself nicely to the wait staff and address them by name. Say something along the lines of, “I need your help because I am allergic to gluten.” You can then ask the waiter or manager to guide you in finding the best items for your condition on the menu.

When you find a good gluten-free restaurant in Loveland and you like their food, go there often. Develop an ongoing relationship with the staff and chef. They will know what to serve you the next time you visit.
