Nowadays, most of us end up gathering tons of digital and print photographs. It’s difficult to store them all in an easily accessible and organized manner. Even digital photographs can get lost in virtual space when you own thousands of them. So, here are several ideas to store photographs:

Paste Them in a Photo Album

The time-honoured method for storing photographs is to store them all in a photo album. Photo albums can be bulky, but they are very effective in preserving photographs for a decade. If you like physical photographs over digital ones, photo albums also make the prints easy to browse. When family visits for Christmas, a physical photo album is a great way to reminiscence.

Frame in a Unique Way

Most people love to frame photographs and hang them around the house. If you frame your photographs correctly, you can even have a photo gallery to show above the staircase. While you can buy frames, you can make everything more unique and interesting by purchasing custom frames. You will get to choose any style you want that match your preferences and interior decor. You can also add names to the frames you have custom made. Also, if you have unusually shaped photographs, having the frames made to order is the best option.

Make a Scrapbook

Kids who were born before the nineties know the appeal of scrapbooking. If you like all things retro, scrapbooking is an excellent method to store print photographs. Mind that scrapbooks won’t preserve photographs for decades as well as photo albums. The appeal here is that you get your own unique way to store photographs with scrapbooks. It’s easy to include scribbles and clippings from other sources like newspapers in scrapbooks than photo albums.

Create a Digital Slideshow

If you have thousands of photographs saved on your cloud drive, create a digital slideshow to get easy access to them. A slideshow is easy to show off to friends and family during gatherings. Also, when you just want to look at the pictures, you can play the slideshow and sit back and relax. If you create the slideshow using a program like PowerPoint, you will also be able to add little notes so you can better remember the pictures when you are older.

Make a Picture Movie

If you can get your wits about video editing, it’s easy to make picture movies. It was widely done in the past using Windows Movie Maker. There are plenty of free and paywalled software that let you do this now. When you make a movie with your photographs, you can add an audio or a voice track, along with special effects. It will be a great addition to family gatherings and important life events like weddings.

Don’t forget to carefully store the negatives of all print photographs, if any are available. As for digital photographs, don’t forget to back up your drive so you don’t lose them accidentally. It’s important to keep copies of your photos when you send them in for framing. Once you follow these safety tips, use one of the above methods to store your photographs for a long time to come.
