Using Solar Energy To Operate The Gates

Earth has provided us with a few gifts. These gifts are called the Resources. The resources are of two types. The resources that the Earth has taken many millions of years to make and hence will not be able to renew or make them again is called the Non- renewable resources. There is a possibility for us to run short of these resources, if we use them as rapidly as we are doing now. But there are certain resources like Sun, wind and tide which we are not likely to run short of and can be used forever and ever and are called renewable resources.

Nowadays, generating power using the sun’s energy (Solar energy) is becoming very common. They are used as an alternate source of power to run appliances and lighting fixtures at home and for commercial buildings. Solar power is generated by directing the sun’s rays onto Solar panels which can be installed on top of the buildings. It is said to reduce pollution and also helps save electric power.

The solar panel kit is used in place of factory transformer and provides a clean source of power which can operate the gates and is compatible with all gate openers. However, you should pay attention to the idle current draw of the solar operator, which is necessary to determine the size of the solar panel that is needed. The smaller the size of the panel, lower is the overall cost of the system. Solar panels that are used for driveway gates can and should be sized according to the location. If it is in sunny areas, a smaller panel is enough. If it is in prolonged overcast conditions, a bigger panel is required.
