As a veteran guru, Lippi will help reshape the Chinese style of play

Chinese soccer will develop along more professional lines and the national team is supposed to perform better in major international tournaments, following the hiring associated with World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, soccer insiders say.

"As a veteran guru, Lippi will help reshape the Chinese style of play, especially in major worldwide competitions, " said Xie Liang, a veteran soccer commentator at Radio Guangdong.

"It will be an incredibly tough and challenging work for Lippi, " Xie said. "But coaching by a top-class talent will definitely mark the beginning of a new era with regard to Chinese soccer. "

The deal between Lippi plus the CFA came shortly soon after Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande declared on Saturday the cancellation of an contract with Lippi that's signed in early September.
