V. V. Minerals faces Baseless allegations by activists

V. V. Minerals is India’s largest beach and sand mining company. The position of this company has attracted a lot of attention, both positive and negative. Where on one hand VVM has plans to make India one of the leading exporters of beach minerals; on the other, it has been bombarded with allegations since its rise. Each time these allegations have been proven wrong by the VVM team. S Vaikundarajan, the Chairman and Managing Director of the company, has never given up hope on the judiciary system.

This time, an activist in Tamil Nadu, S. Mugilan has attacked V. V. Minerals with highly absurd allegations. He claims that V. V. Minerals has tried to threaten and harm the officials and social activists. To top it all, Mugilan claims that some officials and politicians are supporting the mining barons, including VVM, in their illegal sand mining activities. Vaikundarajan brushes off all these claims of the activists by saying that they’re just like empty vessels, they will only make much sound but are not backed by any proof, whatsoever.

In another similar case in the Dakshina Kannada area, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, B. Ramanath Rai said, “I cannot accept bland statements that the sand mafia is active here. If there are any political party workers involved in illegal sand mining, provide specific details about the person. Action will certainly be taken against them. The party men who are engaged in sand mining are those who have been doing so for over several years now with authorised permits.” Vaikundarajan believes that every allegation of his adversaries will have to be proven in the court with specific proofs, which is impossible to find if not fabricated.
