Split Air Conditioner ? Best Ways to Save Money in the Home and Office

Posted by Samstores on November 15th, 2016

The split type air conditioner is one of the types of air conditioning systems you are likely to encounter when choosing one for your home or office. As the name implies, split air conditioning consists of two units, but sometimes, it could have more. In a conventional setup, one of the units is outside the building, and the other is inside. The split air conditioner was initially available in Japan, but it became widespread in other countries. Its compressor is set up outside the building, usually on brackets hanging on the wall or on the ground. Some models can have multiple indoor units relying on one compressor, and they are sometimes referred to as ‘ductless air conditioning’ because they do not have ducts to make the air circulate.

There are different reasons for choosing a split air conditioner over other types of AC systems, and one of these is cost effectiveness. The split type air conditioner is ideal for when you only need your room or office to be cooled at certain times of the day or night. For instance, you want your living room to be cool during the day, and your bedroom at night.  Ceiling or inside wall units are capable of distributing the cooled air more precisely and cost effectively, and because the fan motors are smaller and individual units can run at different times, the split air conditioner can help you save energy.

Another way that the split air conditioner can save you money is the ease in installation. It does not require any ducts to be installed, so it is easier to set up. Some split type ACs enable you to set up the indoor unit 100 feet from an outdoor condenser, and you will only need a small hole in the wall for the control wiring and copper tubing. The condenser may be positioned on a roof’s flat area, too. You will find the split air conditioner easier to maintain, too, adding to the savings your home or office could experience in the long run. Filters are washable and cleaning is conducted periodically. The outdoor units are easier to access for repair and maintenance.
