A fraternity, brotherhood, fraternal order or fraternal organization is an organization, a society, or a club of men associated together for various secular or religious aims. Fraternities of various kinds associating themselves with different purposes and goals have existed for centuries unknown.

While many have gone into oblivion, there are some that still function today and have members worldwide. Freemasonry, an organization designed to impart ethics, morality and the concept of mutual service to its members, is a classic example of such a fraternity.

Humanity, Truth And Perfection

Man has always been fascinated by the mystical perception of life and its purpose. We, along with the efforts to create a better life for ourselves and others, have never ceased to discover the purpose with which life was created. As the hunt for the truth advanced, people started to focus more towards perfection of mind, body and soul. Humanity also gained momentum and mutual service, brotherly love and uplifting of the underprivileged became the core principles of life on earth.

Change Is Inevitable

As the world progressed towards the heights of technological innovations, the concept of humanity and brotherhood lost its shine, and it became more and more materialistic. The efforts for spreading love and truth were replaced by the efforts to modernize the world even further. The change that came, swept away the morality and the ethics with it.

Masonic Order

The masonic order, better known as the freemasonry, is a system that still exists in the world with an aim to impart morality, ethics and mutual service among its members. The purpose is perfecting of humanity using the knowledge that masonry provides and the order aspires to establish an international organization to extend brotherly love, relief, and truth to all its members. The order is composed of Freemasons of both sexes and they remain united without distinction of race, religion or creed.

The Masonic Lodge

The basic, local organizational unit of Freemasonry is the Lodge. In Lodges, discussions and debates on social, philosophical, or religious questions happen on regular basis. The sole purpose of these activities is the intellectual enlightenment of the members of the Masonic order. With this, the members become able enough to reach a greater understanding of themselves and humanity. Masonic Lodge is the epicenter of the spread of the values of the Freemasonry. The members fulfill their duties as Freemasons through the knowledge they attain in the Masonic Lodge.
