It is believed to be the representation of the moment of Buddha’s enlightenment.

Meditation Buddha: Also known as calming and serenity Buddha, these kind of statues show Buddha with closed eyes, crossed legs and both hands in the lap. It can be seen as the iconic lotus pose. Some statues also include an alms bowl placed on the lap or in front of the figure.

Buddha for protection: This is another example of the seated Buddha with crossed legs and eyes closed in concentration. The right hand is shown raised, as if casting a blessing or putting up a shield of protection around the believers. The left hand is either relaxed on the lap or extended in a meditative gesture.
