Network controller:

This is a hardware device, which handles an interface to a computer network, and then allows a network capable device to contact the network. The Network Controller contains a ROM chip, which has a number, the MAC (Media Access Control) Address, and this number is burned into it. This address identifies the device on the LAN.

It enables users to connect with each other either by wirelessly or by using cables. A Network Controller is designed to enable computers to communicate over a computer network. Furthermore, it is also necessary that the Ethernet network must have a card containing a unique MAC address.

Possible reasons for network controller not working in Toshiba R600:

There are several possible reasons due to which a network controller may stop working. There could be a virus, due to which the network controller is not work properly. The drivers for a network controller may be missing or mistakenly deleted, which may again crate problems for the network controller work; there might be a chance of a corrupt window which may be making problems for the network controller to work properly. If the LAN and WAN card are not working in an appropriate way that could also be the reason of an improper working of a network controller. If the drivers of LAN and WAN card are not working or are corrupted, even in this situation a network controller can stop working.

How network controller works:

It consists of both a physical layer, and data link layer device; it gives a substantial access to a networking standard, and provides a low-level addressing system through the use of MAC addresses, through which users are be able to connect to each other. Every Ethernet network card has a distinctive 48-bit MAC address, which is stored in ROM (read only memory) approved on the card. Usually it is secure to believe that a same or a single address cannot be used by the two network cards, a matchless address is assigned to every card when it is manufactured.
