What actually works when talking to your kids about not sharing personal details online?

You know that sometimes you might have problems with kids and their behaviour online. And also it is important to protect your kids from online threats. Especially in social media platforms. With mine, I've noticed the lectures don't work half as well as just weaving it into normal chats when something pops up on screen. Like if we're watching a video together and some random asks for details in comments, I'll casually point out how easy it is for bad sorts to piece things together from little bits. One thing that's helped a ton is keeping the door open so they feel safe coming to me rather than hiding slip-ups. I can create set of rules for my kid in order to answer the question How to Keep Your Child Safe in the Online World. It's not about strict rules, more building habits gradually so they get why privacy matters without feeling nagged. In my experience, mixing real-life parallels—like not shouting your address in a crowded park—makes it sink in better than techy warnings alone. Education is the most important thing here really you know and also other things like strong passwords for example
