A Few Things You Should Know About 220 Volt Electric Heater

There is a growing interest in 220-volt electric heaters because of its safety, economy, and convenience. They are widely available and can be ordered online, too. If you are in the market for one, here are a few things you need to know to make a wise purchase decision.
1. 220-volt electric heaters are efficient. These types of heaters are cheaper to run and also safer than open fires or portable LPG heaters. They convert all of the electricity they consume directly into useful heat, so nothing is wasted.
2. A 220-volt electric heater is suitable for smaller rooms that only need to be heated occasionally and for relatively short periods of time. Electric plug-in heaters usually have lower heating capacities, so if you might need to run two or more of them if you want to heat a poorly insulated room or a large space.
3. Remember to only use one 220-volt electric heater per power outlet. This prevents overloading.
4. Electric heaters come in several types, and choosing the right kind is key to getting the full benefits. Here are some of your options:
• Radiant electric heaters – These heaters are designed to heat people and objects (not the air in the room). They come in free-standing, high-wall mounted, and wall mounted models. These 220 volt electric heaters are great for producing instant heat. If you have kids or pets, be sure to install your radiant heater high up on a wall, out of their reach.
• Fan heaters (also known as ceramic heaters) distribute heated air around the space so that it doesn’t form a layer below the ceiling. They can be used to boost convection heaters because they provide additional heat and distribute heated air to make a room feel warmer quicker.
• Convection electric heaters are the opposite of radiant heaters because they heat the air instead of surfaces. They are great for medium-sized spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms. If you want background warmth, you can rely on a convection heater.
• Flat-panel heaters are the cheapest to run, but they don’t produce enough heat to make a room feel warm during harsh winters. The advantage is that they are not designed to be hot enough, so they are safer. Go for a higher wattage heater model with a thermostat.
You can also buy a night store heater that stores off-peak (cheaper) electricity at night as heat in ceramic or clay bricks, and then slowly releases that heat during the day. These types are economical if electricity rates are lower at night in your area.
