Whether you are packing for a beach resort vacation or a hillside holiday, one thing that lingers on your mind is the concern over keeping the luggage light and fashionable at the same time.

The rules are simple. You need to pack only for five days, no matter how long your vacation is going to be. The reason is that you would be certainly shopping and you’d need more room to carry the new clothes without adding another inconvenient piece to your baggage. Also, you can mix and match those five pieces creatively with each other as well as with your new purchases.

Another tip is the rule of carrying only two pairs of shoes and only three pieces of accessory. To combine it all while ensuring fashion-forwardness, it is called the 54321 rule which means:

5 tops
4 bottoms
3 accessories
2 pairs of shoes
1 swimsuit

Now, comes the biggest hack for packing smart and traveling more conveniently. This best of all “packing clothes for travel” tips require you to split your luggage. Instead of carrying everything in a bag that is able to hold them all, you should carry three smaller bags instead. Think about it, dragging a bulky bag and then a shoulder bag that has your wallets and valuables can be quite a cumbersome task for one person. On the other hand, if you segregate all your stuff into three categories and pick up a set of three bags of different sizes, yet great in looks and matching with each other, you’d be doing yourself a favor.

One should be a decent sized bag in which you only pack your clothes, accessories and shoes. It is OK, if there is some space left. You would need that while returning.

The second bag should be smaller and dedicated to your cosmetics, hair products, jewelry etc.

The third should be a very personal little bag or a laptop bag in which you can keep your wallet, cash, keys, gadgets and their accessories or any other items that you always need to carry along and can’t afford to leave them in a hotel room.

So, it all becomes highly convenient and lighter to carry because your two shoulders can accommodate the two bigger bags while you carry the smaller one in one of your hands, while one hand remains free. That would smart and stylish at the same time.
