Wilson Launches the New 2017 Blade Performance Tennis Racket

Wilson is a known brand of sporting goods and it recently announced the introduction of new high-performance Blade rackets. What sets these rackets apart from other models is ‘Countervail technology,’ a layered carbon fiber that was initially used the aerospace industry to dissipate vibrations in space vehicles and airplanes. Countervail technology enhanced the performance of the new line of Wilson Blade performance tennis rackets, and this new feature makes the rackets ideal for players who like to attack but would like more aggressive control.

Wilson’s Blade performance tennis racket has strategically placed, specifically calculated amounts of Countervail in specific parts of the frame to minimize the effects of vibration. That way, players gain maximum accuracy and control, and they can avoid getting tired easily, especially in long matches. Moreover, it ensures quick recovery after exhausting training sessions. The School of Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota conducted a study with male and female competitive collegiate players as participants and found that athletes who used tennis rackets with Countervail experienced about 10 percent less fatigue. The players had more energy and 40 percent more control over the shots, too. The study involved conventional Wilson tennis rackets and the 2017 Blade performance tennis racket, which comes with Countervail.

The latest products in the Blade series with Countervail include Blade 98 (16x19), Blade 98 (18x20), and Blade 98 S, which comes with Spin Effect technology. Blade 104, 98UL, 98L, and 101L do not have the Countervail technology, but these are specifically designed for young players who require proper swing and technique. Wilson strings rackets according to your specifications.

Blade 98 (18x20) is ideal for the tennis player who is looking for a solid feel racket that can deliver pinpoint control, especially on big swings. When strung, it should weigh only about 11.3 ounces, so it accelerates a bit easier compared to a traditional racket. However, it still has enough mass in its head for a good swing weight and decent plow-through and stability. Blade 98 (16x19) comes with a grippy string pattern that offers bigger spin and power, while ensuring precision and feel, both of which are traits known to the Blade series. Blade 98S offers a lively spin for hitting a heavy ball, while ensuring a speedy and light 11-ounce strung weight.
