Undergraduate courses Entrance Exam in Karnataka

A state level entrance exam which is managed by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental of Karnataka.is called COMEDK. It is organized for providing admission into the Under Graduate courses in the field of medical, dental and engineering. From 2017, this entrance exam will be held only for admission to engineering & Architecture courses which is B.Tech and B.Arch. 

Important Dates

•          Application forms will start from second week of February, 2017
•          Application form will close in first week of April, 2017
•          Admit cards will release in last week of April, 2017
•          Exam will held in second week of May, 2017
•          Provisional Answer key will release in second week of May, 2017
•          Final Answer key will release in last week of May, 2017
•          Result will be declared in last week of May, 2017

Eligibility Criteria

For engineering Courses (B.Tech/B.E.):

•          One should have cleared the qualifying examination as 12^th class from the recognized state/central board. Candidate must have completed last two year studies with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as subjects.
•          The candidates belonging to general category must have cleared the aforesaid qualifying examination with minimum 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka.
•          Physics and Mathematics are main subjects with Chemistry or Bio-technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as optional subject.
•          The diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the COMEDK entrance exam.

For Architecture Courses:

•          Candidates should have cleared 12^th class from recognized board with Mathematics as one of the mandatory subject. Candidates who have cleared their qualifying examination in pattern of 10+3 or diploma holders with minimum 50% aggregate marks and 40% in respect to SC/ST/OBC are also eligible to apply for architecture courses.
•          There will be no entrance test for admission to architecture courses. The admission will be provided on the basis of candidate’s score in NATA.
•          Those candidates looking for admission in B.Arch. have to submit separate application form for purpose of admission.

Application Form

The Application form for the entrance exam will be accessible online only through the official website.

To fill the application form online, candidates need to follow the instructions carefully given in the information brochure.

The candidates will receive the User Id and password on registered email ID and password once after the successful registration is done.

Candidates have to upload the photograph and signature in the prescribed format as mentioned in information brochure.

Application Fee

The application fee of the entrance exam for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics will be Rs 1200/-.

Once application fee is paid, it will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Mode of Payment

The candidates can pay the fee by both online or offline mode. The detail about online and offline payment mode is given as-

•          For Online Payment – The application fee can be paid online through credit card, debit card or net banking.
•          For Offline Payment – The application fee can be paid offline through bank challan which can be submitted at any branch of Axis bank.
