Popular Entrance Exams
A number of students across the world need to undertake the TOEFL or the IELTS to demonstrate English language proficiency. A large number of universities and colleges accept TOEFL scores, including the top 100 in US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The IELTS is a mandatory exam for Indians and other non-native English speakers for entry into most reputed colleges and universities overseas, and sometimes for immigration requirements as well.
The IELTS is held over four times a month and the TOEFL is held throughout the year, mostly on weekends.
GRE vs GMAT
The Graduate Record Examination(GRE) is another popular examination among Indian students aspiring to study in Canada or US. GMAT is an admission assessment for business colleges. A GMAT score of at least 700 is required for admission into the top schools.
GRE and GMAT exams are held throughout the world in more than 500 locations.
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is required if you wish to study in the USA. There are two types - the Subject Test to check candidate's knowledge in the subject chosen and the Reasoning Test to check grammar and general writing skills. The SAT is developed, owned and conducted by the College Board of the United States of America.
