Joint Entrance Main Application Process and Eligibility Criteria

Joint Entrance Exam Main is a perfect gateway for the admission in graduate engineering and architecture courses which are offered by various top level colleges in India. The application form the entrance exam is filled and submitted only through online portal. The application forms are made available from 1st December, 2016. The last date to apply and submit the application form is on 2nd January, 2017.

Eligibility Criteria-

  1. Students should have cleared 12th class from a recognized board with PCM or PCMB group
  2. Students should have scored minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in 12th class
  3. The date of birth of the students should fall on or after 1st October, 1992 and for reserved categories it is 1st October, 1987
  4. Students should have cleared 12th class in or after 2014 are eligible to apply
  5. Students can apply for the entrance exam for 3 times
  6. There shall be no weight age of marks of 12th class while allotting the ranks of the entrance exam
  7. For students of IIT’s or NIT’s or IIIT’s and CFTI’s it is mandatory to score 75% marks in aggregate to be eligible to apply for the entrance exam and that for SC/ST candidates the minimum marks to be eligible is 65% marks in 12th class.

Application Form-

Candidates who all are interested to appear in the entrance exam have to apply for the form online from 1st December, 2016. Candidates can fill the application form only on the official portal of the JEE MAINS 2017 entrance exam. No other mode of the submission of application form will be entertained. There is no need of sending the confirmation page as well.

Application Fee-

The application fee payment can be made through online banking which are with the help of Credit card, Debit card or net banking and as well as with the help of E-challan of Syndicate, Canara, ICICI and HDFC Bank. E-Challan will be generated only at the time of filing the application form.

For the centers in India

The application fee for pen paper mode

  • For general and OBC candidates is Rs.1000 for either of two papers and Rs.1800 for both the exams
  • For girls and SC/ST/PWD the fee is Rs.500 for either of two papers and Rs. 900 for both the exams

For online mode

  • For general and OBC candidates Rs.500 for either of two papers and Rs.1300 for both the exams
  • For girls and SC/ST/PWD candidates Rs.250 for either of two papers and Rs.650 for both the exams

For the centers outside India-

The application fee for pen paper mode

  • For general and OBC candidates is Rs.2500 for either of two papers and Rs.3800 for both the exams
  • For girls and SC/ST/PWD the fee is Rs.1250 for either of two papers and Rs.1900 for both the exams

For online mode

  • For general and OBC candidates Rs.2500 for either of two papers and Rs.3800 for both the exams
  • For girls and SC/ST/PWD candidates Rs.1250 for either of two papers and Rs.1900 for both the exams.
