Water is essential for living. However, the level of water pollution has only been increasing since industrialization. The hazardous chemicals discharged in water are treated in water treatment plants but when it comes to the safety and health of a person, certain measures are taken by every household to ensure that the water is absolutely clean.

Some of the most common water purifying techniques used in the households are filtering and boiling the water. While filters do filter out any leftover impurities from the water, it is time you became more cautious about the water you are drinking.

Having a water purifier which comes with advanced cleaning techniques is essential in today’s life. No water cooler dispenses water without churning it out from a water purifier. There are various types of water purifiers available today. Every single company will give you a water purifier either with RO technology or UV filtration. Learning about the various water purifying technologies will help you purchase the best water purifier in India.

Types of Water Purification Technology

The first one that is available in today’s market is a water purifier with the membrane purification technology. There are two types in this:

1. RO Purification: RO which stands for reverse osmosis is the most common type of water purification technology. A semi-permeable membrane is used in this process which separates the germs and dissolved chemicals from the water giving you clean water. The size of an RO membrane pore is just 0.0005 micron, which ensures that only the germs and other suspended particles are removed from the water. The semi-permeable membrane will require proper care and maintenance to last for a long time.

2. UF Purification: This stands for Ultra Filtration and uses membranes just like the RO process but with bigger pores. Hence, this will remove all colloidal particles but will fail to remove any suspended salts. This filtration is only good for water that is not hard and has less TDS.

UV purification

You can refer to this as e-boiling because this purification technology uses ultraviolet rays to kill all the germs, bacteria, cysts, microbes, etc. from the water. This is a simple and effective purification technology which is known to remove around 99.9% of the harmful substances and germs from the water. The process only kills the germs. A separate filter is required to remove the bodies of the germs.

Candle Filter Purifier

This is the basic type of water purification that one can get. Most common in Indian households, the operating mechanism of this purifier involves a candle that comes with tiny pores which block all the particles that are larger than the pores.

Activated Carbon Filter Purifier

Activated carbon filters are used in this purifier, which can remove chemicals like chlorine and pesticides.

Out of the given purifiers, the most effective are UV and RO purifiers and a combination of this gives you clean and healthy water. You can also buy water filters online of ur own choice. So, save your family from waterborne diseases by purchasing the best one today.
