Why Electric Bikes Are Replacing the Old Bikes?

The main difference between electric bikes and regular bicycles is the presence of a battery and an electric motor, which propels the rider and assist the pedalling. Also known as ‘e-bikes’, electric bicycles are beginning to replace old bikes due to the convenience they offer to riders who want to reduce their carbon footprint. Because they do not run on petrol, e-bikes have lower carbon emissions, making them environmentally friendly to use for commuting and short trips. On average, the carbon footprint of an electric bike is only at 2.6 grams of carbon dioxide per mile. There are many other reasons why the electric bike is replacing old bikes. Here are some of them:

• They make uphill climbs a cinch – Riding a regular bike can be challenging and difficult when you have to go up a hill or travel with a heavy load. Electric bikes make it easier to go uphill without exerting too much effort and feeling overly exhausted. Hence, they are recommended for the elderly and individuals with leg, hip, heart, and joint problems, too.

• Travel faster – A typical bike’s speed is dependent on how fast you pedal. Hence, if you want to go faster, you need to pedal harder and faster, too. A motor powers the electric bike to go fast, and you can adjust the gears as necessary to accommodate your preferred speed. This way, you can arrive at your destination on time without breaking a sweat and feeling too exhausted.

• They are more reliable now – Newer and higher-quality electric bikes have stronger and more reliable batteries and motors that can let you travel farther. Some bikes can let you travel around 30 miles on a single charge.

• Compact and easier to store – Some electric bikes are foldable, so you can easily take and carry them with you when you need to ride the train or the bus, or if you prefer to use your car then bike the rest of the way to your destination. You do not have to worry about oil leaking from the bike, too, so you can take it indoors.

• No need to register for a license – You can ride your electric bike, even if you do not have a license for motor bikes.
