Diversity is a trait that is deeply embedded in the human race. It has its own advantages and disadvantages. When you focus on the disadvantages, you come to notice the disparity among different people. The latest report released by the charity Oxfam is the most vivid testament to the inequality that exists among us. The vast and growing gap between rich and poor has been laid bare in a new report showing that the 8 richest billionaires own as much wealth as the poorer half of the world’s population standing equal to the collected wealth of 3.6 billion people.

The reasons for this inequality are many but the biggest reason is the lack of availability of basic resources for growth such as proper education to majority of people who form the poorest half of the world. They are under groomed and thus, cannot fend for themselves.

Every central government that runs a nation is responsible to minimize this inequality through welfare programs such as community leadership development program to empower the undernourished population so that they are able to earn a handsome living and develop the basic abilities to grow in life. Such programs are aimed at making the under served stronger in all aspects of life - academically, physically, mentally and financially too. Many of those who believe in eradicating the deep-rooted inequality have established organizations to help the under groomed.

The models of programs like leadership development through community health programs are closing the opportunity gap by promoting positive lifestyle changes for the people who need them most. Small companies and local organizations that are united in this purpose offer support and help them grow and build their capacity. These innovative models create more opportunities for the local people from a community. They empower them with the knowledge and skills and teach financial health, digital literacy, nutrition and physical health to the people in these specific communities. By initially investing in such programs they groom the local business owners into leaders for a prolonged development even after they have left.

The core program tenets include a multi-generational strategy and focuses on leadership development. By enabling families to build wealth by teaching savings and investing habits, they create social networks that are strong enough to enable people to support each other within the community. With proper education and providing better opportunities the financial behavior of the under-served are changed to grow their wealth.
