If you have used laminates for the cabinets in your kitchen, you will have to find the best way to keep them clean throughout the year. Cabinets, like other surfaces in your house, are likely to develop dust and dirt buildup throughout the year. There are many reasons why the cabinets in the kitchen become dirty. Fortunately, kitchen laminate cabinets are very easy to clean, provided you know how to go about doing it properly. Below are some helpful tips on cleaning your laminate cabinets.

  1. DUST REGULARLY: The best way to avoid any problematic cleaning job is to keep your kitchen laminate as clean as possible throughout the year. Do this by regularly dusting them. Purchase a rag or a soft cloth, or use a standard duster. Once every week or so, gently dust off the surface of the cabinets, both inside and out, to remove any dust or dirt that may have built up during the intervening time.

  2. USE WATER FIRST: If any small stains or areas that are not going to become cleaner by dusting, get a rag or a soft sponge and pour a few drops of water onto it. Then rub gently rub the cabinet to see if that will be sufficient to remove the stain. Do not use much water, as allowing water to sit on laminates might cause damage to the surface.

  3. PURCHASE CHEMICAL CLEANERS: If both dusting and water treatment do not work, try a soft detergent or hand soap. They prove to be quite adequate for most laminate cleaner stains and shouldn’t cause any damage to the cleaner itself. You need to rub down the stained area with a cloth that has soap and water on it. Allow the soap to sit before cleaning off the stained area with clean water.

  4. SPECIAL CLEANING SOLUTIONS: You can also use special cleaning solutions which are available at most hardware and grocery stores. Be sure that you use the right solution which is approved for use in the type of material that you have for your laminate cabinets. Follow the instructions properly, as full strength solutions can cause permanent damage to the laminate material and the material underneath as well.

  5. PROFESSIONAL HELP: You can always contact a professional or a representative at your local hardware or cleaning store to clean your kitchen laminate

Use of laminates for kitchen cabinets gives your kitchen a very nice look. You just need to clean them regularly.
