Tips on How to Invest in High Quality Dining-Room Furniture

Dine More Pleasurably

One of the first things to consider when purchasing a dining-room set is the type of wood and the quality of the wood. Although bamboo is technically a form or grass that grows very fast, it’s both hard like wood and it’s also flexible. Bamboo also has an attractive grain, which would add an exotic, aesthetic quality to any dining-roomset, regardless of the present décor.

Another thing to consider when buying a set of dining-room furniture is the size of the room and whether it’s a good fit, so that you family, friends and visitors don’t feel cramped or bump into each other. You might also consider matching the shape of the table with the shape of the room

Digest More Easily

It may seem like a bit of a stretch to say this, but an attractive dining-room set can actually have a subtle effect on the way the human body functions, the same way that a bed has an effect on our bodies and especially our spines. So, if your domestic environment in general or in particular is unharmonious in any way, then it may have a negative effect on your mind/body relationship. Dining-room tables serve sustenance, and if the table or its surrounding chairs aren’t welcoming in their appearance or their construction, then, like anything else in life, we may have a mild or even a radical repulsion that causes disharmony or indigestion. If that’s seems laughable, then go ahead and laugh. Nevertheless, everything we encounter in life has an influence over our well-being, so choose your dining-room table carefully and eat plenty of greens. Remember that Popeye stayed strong by eating spinach, which is easily digestible, when compared to pizza or sausage, even though it’s not as palatable.

Divine More Consciously

Many products sold by Haiku Designs have acquired the “E-1” level for manufacturing furniture, which is the highest rating possible. Presented by the European Union in Brussels, this system of rating furniture has the highest standards in the market today. It evaluates furniture according to the amount of synthetic chemicals used in the process of manufacturing, the amount of off-gassing of formaldehyde and other toxic gasses, and the origin of the materials used in the construction of certain products, such as furniture. Every piece of furniture is then given a rating, with “E-5” being the lowest or the worst, with much off-gassing, and “E-1” being the highest or the best, with no off-gassing. So, the E-1 standard of rating protects our environment, and when products with this rating end up in a land-fill, they biodegrade much faster without polluting our environment. Unfortunately, there is no consistency throughout the world when it comes to this system of evaluating the quality of eco-friendly furniture.
