What is a software license agreement? This is legal contract or an agreement between the software users and the software vendors. People can find a license key number while installing new software. The users should get agree with this agreement for using the software. The software users should click the “I accept” or “I agree” option. The license key number is the main contract and it should be renewed in every year. Sometimes, the software developers offer a special agreement to the large scale business organization and for the government’s work.

So, we can find every software license should be protected by an IT copyright law. The organization should not use the over licensed or unlicensed software. This is totally illegal and the unauthorized users may go to the jail. Basically, the software vendors can find the unauthorized software through the software audit performance. There are different types of software license agreements are available. Even, every software developer uses a unique type of software license. Some examples are given below:-

Free and Open Source License: - This is also known as the open source license or “FOSS”. Undoubtedly, this is a free software license agreement. But, this kind of software license should get an approval from the “open source initiative” licensing program. Also, the software vendors should always sell the product by maintaining the IT rules and regulations.

Perpetual license: - This is a lifetime free license agreement. But, the users can use the latest version of the software only for the first year. From the very next year, they have to upgrade the software. In this case, the users should have to pay some nominal charges to get a new update. Otherwise, they can use only the older version of the software at free of cost.

Open content license: - This software license agreement can’t be compatible with the other license agreement. Generally, it creates its own open content and used for a particular work purpose. This software license agreement is protected by the copyright law.

Annual license: - we can easily get an idea from this license name. The customers should renew the license agreement annually for receiving an interrupted service. The users can upgrade the latest version of the software as per the requirement.
