How To Overcome From A Messy Neighbor

It’s a familiar scenario that the home you just put on the market is a precious, but the messy neighbors house next door is scaring away valuable buyers. If you have these troublesome neighbors, here are some tips to keep the peace while you put your home.

Try to Talk to Them

The first step to overcome the problem of junky neighbor can be the difficult for you: Knock on their door and make a conversationwith them honestly about the problem. This requires a delicate touch and a bit of cleverness. You don’t want to be forceful and you certainly don’t want to offensive their home. One policy is to shift the blame. Tell them you don’t have a problem with their sloppy nature, but the house dealer suggested the sale might go a little more easily if the neighbors cleaned up a little.

Give a Helping Hand

If they are disinclined to clean up on their own, you can always offer to give a hand.  Few people will pass up the opportunity to get a bit of redesigning done for free. And all it costs you is an afternoon of trimming and tidying.

Also keep in mind that a neighbor’s sloppy neighbors house yard might not be an act of laziness. Maybe there’s a little lady who lives there and she has problemin maintaining the place. She’d probably appreciate the proposed to help out.

Change Whatever You Can

If your neighbor rejects your offer to help clean up, your best policy is to change what you can. For instance, you can repair or repaint the fence shared by you. If a mess in your neighbor’s courtyard is not in your control after the above steps you can build a higher fence to bricks.  Or you can trim the branches of tree. Hedges that extend into your courtyard, as long as you stay off of your neighbor’s house. It just takes a little bit creativity to make your neighbor’s mess disappear.

Make a Call to Authorities

If your neighbors’ place has become a very serious health hazard and they won’t listen to reason, the last step is to get city officials involved. Most corporations have laws on the books enforcing basic sanitation of upkeep for homeowners. City officials are will to take action if your neighbor has piles of waste that attract insects, or rusted out cars that slowly leak oil into the street. The disadvantage of this option is that it can take extra some time. The wheels of govt. bureaucracy turn slowly, so if you’re looking for a quick sale, diplomacy is probably one of the ways to go.
