On the other hand, its main disadvantage is that they have Pur Gum on both sides, once fixed, they are really difficult to remove. Residues tend to stay back on the surface even after its removal. This gives the surface an odd and clumsy look.

However, this problem can effectively be resolved by simply following a few basic techniques. Beneath is a list of how to remove such forms of adhesives from the walls, books, showpieces and other similar surfaces.

The things that you will need in the process is nail polish, mineral spirits, WD 40, hair dryer, heat gun, and steamer. Before applying on the damaged area, check on a small inconspicuous surface. The removal process is rather a sort of a trial and error process.

Each of the things that have been named above serve the same purpose of residue removal but the one that will suit your surface will have to be found out by you. Try each of these materials.

First try with nail polish and Solvent Based Adhesive mineral spirits. This material have spirits that help the removal of sticky residues from the damaged surfaces. If this fails, next in the list is a hair dryer and a heat gun. Try to give a local heat to the damaged surface to see is the residues gets melted away from the damaged surface.
