When your excessive sweating is diagnosed as being a result of some medical condition or medications then it is referred to as ‘secondary hyperhidrosis’. It can point out towards some serious illness so should be first considered.

After ruling out the possibility of secondary hyperhidrosis, if your doctor finds that it’s independent of medical condition then it is referred to as primary hyperhidrosis. This is due to the abnormal functioning of the sweat glands and will follow the excessive sweating treatment plan as followed in some other type of hyperhidrosis.
