24 hours of touring in Kuala Lumpur

As one who needs to constantly shuttle across different cities, and even countries, for work, I am always running short on time when it comes to discovering and exploring new places. But the feeling of simply landing into a new city or town and breathing in the air that makes its culture is something I just won’t trade. I got just a day to spend in the alive-and-kicking city of Kuala Lumpur, but I took back memories for a lifetime.

It isn’t much of a hassle to reach these places. I booked by tickets from redbus.my and reached the city full of life in a jiffy. The only issue? 24 hours was never enough!

Here’s what you can do till heart’s content, 24 hours is all you have in this buzzing city. Let your heart melt with enthusiasm and appreciation!

Morning: Break your fast at the quaint ol’ café, Red Beanbag. Try the Skyscraper—soft, fluffy pancakes piled atop each other, bathed in Canadian maple syrup and dark chocolate sauce, with a side of caramelised fruits to go along. Spend the rest of the morning visiting the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, and the adjoining attractions—Petronas Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, etc.

Afternoon: Shop till you drop! The city is lined with streets selling the best in the house for different categories of shoppers. I suggest you hit the Central Market, a flea market that will get you the best deals on batik print apparel and Chinese souvenirs.

Evening/Night: If parties is what you seek, look no further than Changkat Bukit Bintang that has scores of resto bars and pubs to choose from. For those looking for a less noisy ambience, walk along the viewing deck of the Menara KL Tower for some spectacular sunset views.
