Building your ecommerce is similar to the Shopify article navigation language

To be honest, you may read this blog because you are a user into a tree or thinking. You have the thirst for internet knowledge and desire to become better with what you do - right? Maybe you want to change your career path, and enter the network industry, or engage in some freelance work, or even start their own institutions and friends are thinking. Never had the best time.

When I started every project in the beginning of 2000 it was created as a freelance web designer for "freelance" web designers in custom or often in flash. I do not have a luxury like WordPress, Bass and Expression engines to help create my website platform.

Today's landscape is very different and we are fortunate to have plenty of options to choose from - tools, libraries and frameworks that will make our lives easier and enable us to build great sites and apps.

Shopify - Hosting Ecommerce

Such a platform, in the past few years has been a lot of traction Shopify, a managed e-commerce solution started in Canada in 2006. In fact, you may have already used Shopify to run your own online store for many amazing brands and it includes a book, US pixel worker, Tattly, 8 faces, dinosaur cases and trees in addition to a book!

I know this is what I have had to work with ChinaDivision Shopify Fulfillment service since early 2012, in the role of designer advocacy. See I run a free seminar designed to help designers and front-end developers learn more about the platform as well as production resources such as the recent Shopify Designer series on YouTube.

In the past year, I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with many amazing web designers and front-end developers who have already started working and found that with the platform is a big extra skill set for their customers to provide web designers, It's a very friendly platform, with a small amount of fluid, that's Shopify's template engine, plus the knowledge of existing HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills you can get up and running in a matter of hours.

First a little background how Shopify works. Stores are based on themes. If you have ever designed a theme for WordPress the methods are very similar.

Is composed of a collection of theme files and images, and uses four techniques - three of them, and everyone may be familiar with it. They are HTML, CSS, JavaScript (although this is completely optional) and fourth, perhaps not too familiar with, is the liquid I mentioned earlier.

Liquid is open source Shopify creates template templates that are used to pull data from your shop to your theme template. Liquids can also be used by other great applications, such as Siteleaf, my preferred front-end development tool mix. This is a very easy to use template syntax and readability.

Zero limit

There really is no limit in your creativity. You do not include any specific tags in your theme, specifically named HTML elements or mandatory CSS. It all depends on how you design your shop.

I often encounter designers postponing the construction of the theme, because they think there are related costs associated with using the Shopify platform. In fact, it is 100% free. To start all you need to do is sign up for a free Shopify partner account after you can create many "dev stores" as you need.

A fully functional development store and allows you to build zero payments for your customer specialty stores. Only your customers will be required to pay for their account on a monthly basis at the time of launch. As far as tools go, as long as you have a text editor, a browser and an internet connection, you are good to go.

Shopify is started by a very small team of designers and developers - many of whom are freelancers themselves. So as a company, it's all it can help designers and developers work on a platform - such a program is Shopify experts. It is 100% free to join, its purpose is to help the skills to find the need for help merchants.

Expert facts and figures

Giving you some background to see more than 3,000 new store launches each month, the company has grown rapidly to require designers and builders of knowledgeable topics. There are now more than 500 experts, and over the past 18 months the program has generated contracts worth more than $ 18 million. More than 2,000 work requests per day through the program and the average contract value of around 6,000 yuan.

Often, experts offer a variety of services, including:

Settings - Help businesses open up Shopify stores, add products and recommended third-party apps ($ 500)

Customization - usually with new color handling, uploading logo and adding contact form (more than $ 1000)

Design and Build Topics - Full-scale design and theme building projects (approximately $ 6000 or more).

These are indicative services and prices, of course, you are free to set your own price - it all depends on you.

With a small amount of liquid knowledge, within a few days you can begin to build your first Shopify theme. There are a lot of great companies Shopify offers related services and I would like to take this opportunity to show you how a small organization like this in Omaha has built a successful business that professional Shopify explains how you can take advantage of the opportunity.

As part of my job, I have been fortunate enough to meet many of the marketed Shopify experts. Many people like me started trading trade, designing and building websites, but who recently focused on building opportunities in Shopify topics.

Tracy Sailor Shopify Expert House

One such person is Tracy Sailor in Omaha, Nebraska, who runs his own three-man agent. Tracy is kind enough to answer a few questions recently via email.

How did you get started with Shopify?

I ran an interactive design company from 2003-2010. In 2008, we are ready to sell the company, I have an idea, an e-commerce store. Since we are not familiar with building an e-commerce store, our team has studied many different platforms and options that ultimately solve Shopify.

In May 2008, our first shop Shop: Melondipity. Before selling it in August 2011, we ran Melondipity for three years. Actually as early as we did Volusion try to build a store, but switch to Shopify within two months to live.

I personally like Shopify to evolve, including the user's idea as they grow. Our team personally requested, for example integrated into the new Shopify 2, and of course we are really grateful.

Why does your customer like Shopify?

The main thing is that they do not need me to manage or update their site once it's up and running. It is rare for a client to contact me to update their store once it's live - add products to a page or collection that changes their shipping preferences even when switching the payment processor - all for our customers just a few Minute yourself Shopify. They like to control others. Also their shipping rate is cheap for bulk orders. Check shipping rate click China shipping calculator

Many customers say that I have a particular style that they like and I see a store after I've been building frequent contacts in the past.

Once we started working together, I wanted them to understand that I also ran my own Shopify store. This really helps, and I have repeatedly provided tips and advice based on my personal experience implementing Shopify Shop.

How long have you been a member of the expert program?

Because it was first introduced in November 2011. We are now at 100% of the jobs involved in Shopify's position, and I would say about 80% of my customers are contacting me via Shopify experts.

Before joining the experts, I got most of my work through my website,, Shopify Jobs Committee. In terms of the type of work we get, I would say it is set to 10% and 90% to design, build and customize.

In what ways are you part of an expert program to change your business?

Shopify experts account for about 70% of our business. I have recommended the Shopify Expert program to send dozens of my own customers while I get new opportunities every day in the past year. This is indeed a win-win relationship.

Shopify needs you!

Tracy is one of many experts who have changed their business using Shopify. With the growth of new stores needed for Shopify knowledgeable talented designers, it will only increase - simply say "Shopify takes you".

If you want to learn more there are plenty of free resources available, including my recently published YouTube series and upcoming free attendance half day seminars in Chicago, New York, Belfast and San Francisco. Finally, I'm here to help, feel free to fire up any comment on the question on Twitter or contact me. I look forward to seeing you come up with amazing work.
