Red velvet cake is one of those special cakes cherished by every cake lover.  The pleasing red color, soft and silk instant melting as soon as you put a bite in your mouth makes it all the more appeasing piece of food loved by everybody.  Usually, the color of the cake ranges from red, deep red, bright red or brownish red, but the red color obtained by the acidic reaction vinegar and buttermilk produces beautiful red color and the keep the cake moist, soft and mellow.  The color is derived from the cocoa due to the presence of anthocyanine and this is released when vinegar and buttermilk is added to it.  Due to the appealing color, no doubt it has become Valentine’s Day special cake.  There can’t be any other choice than this cake, since the cake is highly tempting and mouth watering. 

Now let us know what are the ingredients that go in the preparation of this beautiful recipe?

Remember that it takes more time than you might have imagined previously.  In general the preparation time takes nearly three and half hours to four hours.  Therefore, set aside that much time if you wish to prepare this beautiful red velvet cream cheese cake.  Of course! All those things having good quality and taste don’t come that easily into your hands.  Ok now note down the ingredients list.

For cheese cake note down the ingredients

  • Cream cheese bar
  • Sugar
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Coarse salt
  • Large eggs
  • Sour cream

Now note down the ingredients for the cake

  • Cake flour
  • Sugar
  • Baking soda
  • Cocoa powder
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Buttermilk
  • Red food coloring or beet juice
  • Vanilla extract
  • White distilled vinegar

Now note down the ingredients for frosting

  • Softened cream cheese
  • Softened butter
  • Vanilla extract
  • Confectionery sugar (sifted)

Preparation method: 

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. 
  • Keep required amount of water in a kettle and let it boil
  • Beat cheese cream until fluffy and keep it aside
  • Go on adding sugar and lemon juice and salt until fluffy
  • Beat in eggs one by one scraping down to the side of bowl each time
  • Now add sour cream and beat
  • Spray the pan with non stick spray
  • Cut down the parchment paper and keep it in the bottom and spray the parchment paper
  • Wrap the bottom of the pan in a foil
  • Pour the filling in an oven safe pan and place
  • Now pour the boiling water so that it can come upside
  • Bake until just set in the center for an about 40 to 45 minutes
  • Remove the pan from water and allow it cool down, flip it over and store in fridge. 

To prepare cake add all the ingredients and beat them to make it fluffy, divide the batter into two pans and bake for half an hour.  Let it cool and now start assembling them in whatever manner you wish and garnish it with cheese and cream.  Here you go with red velvet cream cheese cake.
