Breathing problems and inhalers

One of the main reasons for breathing problems is the accumulation of thick mucus in the lungs.  This condition makes a person struggle while breathing and it is a life in the hell.  They need to get rid of this accumulated mucus in all possible manners to have peaceful breathing.  Due to this type of accumulation patients suffering from breathing problems are more prone to pathogenic attacks.  The condition has a common name known as exacerbations.  Modern medical science has come up with many solutions for this particular problem.  People suffering from this specific type of disease has been provided many solutions like inhaling antibiotics, IVF’s and oral consumption of antibiotic tablets.  Depending upon the severity of the condition, they can either use inhalers, antibiotics or tablets to breathe easy.  There is long history for cystic fibrosis inhaled antibiotics.

In medical terms it is known as endobronchial infection, respiratory canal and lungs are infected troubling breathing patterns in all possible manners.  If left untreated respiratory failure leading to premature death.  They are highly susceptible to many types of infections, primarily pathogenic infections.  Several bacteria that are least harmful to normal, healthy people may cause irreparable damage to respiratory system. Several studies are conducted on this condition and results are recorded.  It is believed that infants and children are affected due to staphylococcus aureus and homophiles influenza and later on develop cystic fibrosis.  These children if identified in their early stages of infections can be kept separated and regular health check up with daily medical supervision under capable nursing can be cured in due course of time.

There are several types of antibiotic inhalers.  These are prescribed after identifying the cause of the breathing problems and infected pathogen in their lungs.  Therefore based on their conditions doctors prescribe continuous use of these inhalers and antibiotics to make their life comfortable. Different types of antibiotics are there and they are classified based on the type of bacteria used to treat against.

  • Penicillin
  • Cephalosporin
  • Aminoglycosides
  • Macrolides
  • Tetracylines
  • Quinolones
  • Vancomycin
  • Linezolid
  • IMIpenem and Meripenem
  • Aztreonam

One of the important instructions doctors will provide for the patients suffering from cystic fibrosis or when they are prescribed any antibiotics, is that they should take as prescribed by the doctors.  It is important to maintain the medication schedule as prescribed by doctors.  This is because after some time patients may feel disappearance of the disease yet they may be dormant stage.  Therefore until and unless doctors told you to stop taking antibiotics, one should never stop taking them when they are suffering from disease like cystic fibrosis.  If they leave in between, such patients are left with little choice of medicines for further treatment or in rare cases, there will no choice except watching patient die a slow death from the disease.  Due to this reason counseling is necessary for people suffering from such diseases and they are advised not to discontinue from taking prescribed medicines that too in time.  Such patients should also remember that alcohol and smoking reduces effectiveness of these medicines significantly.
