There are many perks to relocating to Westlake Hills, Texas, and investing in Westlake Hills luxury homes, which are often majestic structures built on spacious and beautiful properties in close proximity to downtown Austin. Residents need not travel far for shopping, good schools, or recreation, but for religious families, another major consideration is the presence of a strong community of faith. Fortunately, Westlake Hills offers a number of options, particularly for those of a denomination of the Christian faith. Two of the largest communities include Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church and St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church is currently located at 7127 Bee Cave Road, but the original congregation dates back to 1874, when local citizens gathered to listen to traveling ministers. The first church was built on the site in 1928 and featured an impressive fire bell gifted to the church by the Austin Fire Department that is still displayed today. The congregation now makes its home in a modern facility, which houses services, youth ministries, a preschool program, and church administration offices and features a magnificent pipe organ. Pastor Mark Ramsey is the Head of Staff, overseeing a staff of dozens, and the Associate Pastor is Stacy Ikard. The congregation, at last available tabulation, counted almost 2,000 members and is always accepting newcomers to the community. Visit the church website for more information.

St. John Neumann Catholic Church is also located in Westlake Hills, at 5455 Bee Cave Road, with a parish first established off of the current site in 1984. The congregation made its first home in Westlake Hills in 1986, then renovated the site in 1988 and remained there until 2003, when construction on the present location was finished and the move was compete. The chapel features seven beautiful handcrafted stained glass art windows, representing the Sacraments of Initiation, Healing, and Service. St. John offers programs for kids and teens, in addition to worship services, and counts among its community over 2,800 families. Father Bud Roland is the Pastor at St. John, and he is assisted by Parochial Vicar Kurtis Wiedenfeld. For more information on joining Westlake Hills’ St. John community, please visit the church website.
