Guide to AIIMS 2017 Exam

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established in the year 1956 as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament. According to the objectives provided in the Act, AIIMS institutions were allowed to conduct teaching programs in medical and paramedical courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and awards its own degrees. And for admission to these courses, AIIMS conducts various entrance examinations.
The AIIMS MBBS exam 2017 will be conducted on 28th May 28 2017 for admissions to 707 MBBS seats across 7 AIIMS institutions in India.

AIIMS 2017 eligibility criteria

AIIMS 2017 aspirants will have to meet the below mentioned eligibility criteria to sit for AIIMS Exam-

•Applicants should have attained the age of 17 years as on the 31st December 2017.
•Applicants must have completed 10+2 exam from a recognized board, with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
•12th appearing candidates with PCBE are also eligible.
•Applicants must have secured minimum 60% (for General and OBC candidates) or 50% (for SC/ST/OPH Candidates) aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

The first step of preparing for an entrance exam is being aware of the important dates of the exam. As the important dates of the exam detail you about the important events of the exam. Here are the important dates of AIIMS MBBS exam 2017-

•Start date of registrations- 24th January, 2017
•Last date to submit the application form- 23rd February 2017 (5:00 PM)
•Release of admit card- 1st May 2017
•AIIMS MBBS 2017 exam- 28th May 2017 (Sunday)
•Declaration of Results- 14th June 2017
•First Counseling- 3, 4, 5 & 6, July 2017
•Second Counseling- 3rd August 2017
•Third Counseling- 5th September 2017
•Open Counseling (If required)- 27th September 2017
•Commencement of Classes- July 2017

AIIMS 2017 syllabus-

The syllabus of the exam is based upon 12th standard, under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. The exam will consist of questions from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and General Knowledge/ Aptitude.

AIIMS 2017 exam pattern

The AIIMS MBBS 2017 exam will be conducted in an online or computer based mode. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours 30 minutes. The question paper will be containing 200 Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion type questions divided into sections Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge/Aptitude.

•Physics- 60 questions
•Chemistry- 60 questions
•Biology (Botany & Zoology)- 60 questions
•General Knowledge/Aptitude-20 questions

AIIMS 2017 marking scheme

For each correct response, a candidate will be awarded 1 mark and for each incorrect response 1/3rd marks will be deducted.

Candidates should prepare for the exam according to the syllabus, focusing on the important topics. You can prepare a study time-table and divide the syllabus according to the time at hand. Choose genuine study material and preparation books. And do not forget to practice previous years question paper and mock tests.
