This Big Buddha temple is 12m tall. You can easily see it as soon as you land on Koh Samui airport.
The temple is really beautiful and was built in 1972. In local language it is called as Wat Phra Yai. This temple is in shape of a Buddha's statue. It resembles the Buddha sitting in "Mara" posture. This posture symbolizes enlightenment and purity.
You should ensure that you cover your knees and shoulders while visiting this temple. Also, you should carry a good amount of drinking water with you. You will have to climb too many steps and it is hot even in cloudy weather.
The Wat Khunaram Temple
