The Capability To Send Automated Text Messages From Salesforce

SMS have played a key role in the growth of businesses and organizations. The prospect of connecting with important contacts at any given point of time made it much more lucrative than the email.  While emails are appropriate for formal communication and pleasantries, text messages support the informal conversation that are actually responsible for sealing the deals. With the ever growing migration to CRM platforms like Salesforce, the need to send automated text messages from Salesforce is more pressing than ever.

Companies have to maintain intra organization communication and also have to correspond with clients and business partners. And to do that, they need an application that would allow them to send automated text messages from Salesforce. There are several apps listed on the AppExchange that allow the user to send Text alerts from Salesforce. However, the decision of choosing which app is better out of the lot can be difficult for the organization. There are several parameters which an organization must set to determine which app suits the bill for their company. These parameters include but are not limited to: efficiency, quality, reliability, cost effectiveness and Return on Investments.

Since the apps come at a price and that the price is directly proportional to the number of features, it is highly advisable to make a bucket list of only those features that are needed for the organization and not those that are unnecessary. Some of the necessary features include SMS to Lead, Contact, Account or any Standard/Custom Object, MMS functionality, 2 or 3-way text messaging, single and bulk SMS, call auto forwarding feature, incoming notification/audio alerts, automated text messages from Salesforce, sending messages from campaigns, customized text messages/ SMS templates and SMS credits.

Other important features may include Conversation View, auto forward of SMS/ Text message to email, text event reminders, SMS History, etc. Nevertheless, needs of different organizations vary depending on their size and scope of business. What one organization requires might not be necessary for other organizations. However, the capability to send and receive text alerts from Salesforce is something that nearly every company interested in keeping clients in good stead seeks. Above all, cost effectiveness plays the most critical role here. Hence, do undertake a good cost benefit analysis before going all out of your way and look for the app that does all this more for your business.
