Get Creative with Floor Laminates

Think outside the box and you will find many creative ways to use planks of floor laminates, other than laying it in a conventional way. One of my friends, who is an interior designer gave me some great ideas.  Floor laminates are laid in rows perpendicular to the walls of chosen room, using matching planks. If you want something different and interesting, why not try these alternative ways to lay it.

1. Colour Combinations: To bring more colour variations in a room you can mix a batch of two or three shades of colours, keeping the style and grains the same. You can either choose similar shades of colour or try a bit of contrast.

2. Random Lengths: I loved the idea of cutting the laminates planks into random lengths to give a random length. Lay the planks straight along the walls for a good finish. But do not try and replicate a parquet design as it will turn into a disaster.

3. Ceiling: A wood-effect ceiling looks great but it is not as easy to install as a wall. When paired with wood walls, a wooden ceiling will give a traditional library or whiskey lounge look. For a contemporary scheme keep the balls bare and matte painted to separate the floor laminates.

4. Staircases: Laminating stairs need a lot of time and patience with high level of DIY skill. If done well, they can totally transform the look of your hallway.

Designing your home needs a lot of creativity and artwork. Design your home in a way that makes you feel comfortable. If you choose laminates, then you will find an array of laminate designs in the market. Laminate designs give a decent and stylish look at very affordable process.
