For the USA job internship, the prospective employer will need to file a petition for the employee via the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The petition, which gets approved, is the requirement for applying for a work visa.

There are a variety of temporary work visas for the USA and some of these may also require a labor certification or any other type of approvals that are from the Department of Labor on behalf of the employee and this is before filling out the petition for the non-immigrant worker, with USCIS and the form is Form-I 129. The employer will be able to check via the USCIS website in order to determine whether the employee requires the certification of Labor or not. However, there are certain categories, where there is a limitation in the number of approvals that are approved per year.

After the petition is approved by the USCIS, the employee may apply for the visa. The employee will need to complete the online non immigrant visa application form DS-160. After completing the visa application online, the employee will then need to print out the application form confirmation page and bring it to the interview. The employee will also need to upload recent photo when completing the online form. Also, the photo should be in the format that is explained on the USCIS website.

An interview will be scheduled and those who are aged 13 or younger or aged 80 and older will not need to appear for the interview. Those who fall between the age ranges of 14-79, will need to appear for the interview at the US embassy or consulate in the home country of the visa applicant on the given date. The waiting period can vary from one place to another. The visa applicant will also need to pay non refundable visa application fee as well. Via the USCIS website, the visa applicant will be able to check the visa issuance fee. The visa applicant should also read the instructions for getting a visa on the website of the US embassy or consulate. The visa applicant should gather the necessary documents properly, so that the visa approval procedure is not hampered. These can be found at the USCIS website.
