Career Counselling can help you choose the Right Career

There are many career options available but sometimes students find it difficult in deciding what they want to do. Adding to this ambiguity is the rising pressure from parents, tutors, teachers and peer groups.

To make things simple, many students, especially who have given boards, opt for career counselling.

My elder sister always wanted to be a doctor, but somehow she began to feel that she would not be able to do it. So she went to a career counsellor in Delhi and after going through some tests, she realized that her inclination is towards Maths. She finally decided to opt PCM (physics, chemistry maths) instead of PCB (physics, chemistry, biology).

Even parents consider career counselling as the best way forward.

One of my cousins wanted to join PCM, just because all of her friends were opting for the same subject, but her parents knew that she would be good in finance as she shows a lot of interest in the subject. I advised her to go to a counsellor for some career guidance. She went and got the same feedback. Now she is happy with the decision.

Career guidance experts or the career counsellors always say that the age-old conversations such as hit and trial, parental and peer pressure and popular option are not the right ways to make career options.

Career counselling helps both the students and parents broaden their spectrum and explore new opportunities.
