Thirteen-Year-Old MMO Gets Its First Expansion Pack

Since its launch in the past in 2001, browser-based massively-multiplayer online role-playing online game RuneScape has received a gradual stream of updates with 07 Rs Gold, but never anything as ambitious as its very first expansion pack, Lost City of your Elves.

So expansive it's being released in three parts, the Lost City on the Elves expansion begins today using the epic "Plague's End" pursuit, a massive undertaking for high-end players that will culminate with the unlocking from the first half of this elf city of Prifddinas - the biggest city the game possesses ever seen - with September. The second half are going to be unlocked in October. That makes it so large it takes a month to travel derived from one of end to the different, sort of.

Along with the new city, players can expect completely new skills, fresh loot, and hundreds of several hours of fresh gameplay.

"Launching the Lost City of the Elves is a landmark within the history of this remarkable game. We've captured the imagination of hundreds of millions of players for earlier times 13 years, and so many ones have been waiting with this city, " said David Osborne, senior narrative designer regarding RuneScape via official pr release. "Developing this high level, aspirational Lost City with the Elves expansion pack is a huge huge responsibility, but tremendously fun for the whole team. "

What impresses me by far the most about this expansion is it's the culmination of endless weeks of frustration years of questing, beginning with "The Cause problems for City" quests in 2002. Damn, this elf city better be worth the cost.

RuneScape (technically RuneScape 3 at this point) is free for all those to play provided that they can stand that. You can play it right in your browser window here.
