There are another three applications for zirconium dioxide except for refractory materials and ceramics pigment and glaze.

1. Advanced ceramics and specialty

For stable zirconium, zirconia setter plate is an important application field. The other specialty products include suction pump, high value parts, special tools parts, auto brake pads, and etc.

Due to the inertness of stability zirconium dioxide, and its corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance, zirconium oxide can be used in the production of high performance bearing kiln in the firing process of electronic ceramic, namely the electronic bearing plate. Bearing plate is mainly used in ceramic capacitor burning, it does not react with burning workpiece, and is not binding, therefore, guarantee the stability and consistency of the work piece in the firing process.

2. Metal zirconium

Fused zirconia has almost entirely replace zircon sand become industrial zirconium metal materials.

3. grinding materials used in grinding steel and metal alloys

Thus it can seen that there are many of same markets between the fused zirconia and chemical zirconium oxide, but the fused zirconia with low cost advantage gradually expand the market. The refractory material, glass materials and metal zirconium almost choose fused zirconia to produce. Of course, there are some part of the field both used chemical zirconium oxide and fused zirconia, such as ceramic pigment, milling media, grinding materials, structural ceramics, functional ceramics, etc.
