Scholarships ? Enabling Deserving Students

It is not always that the meritorious students have the wherewithal to sustain their higher education. A Premier institutions in our country, in which all students are keen to take admission charge hefty annual fees, which people from humble background may not be able to afford. While some might have luck on their side and may make it with help of education loan etc. others may not be so lucky.

Why scholarships?

Every year a lot of students have to drop out or discontinue their studies as their families cannot afford their education. There are also a few who although may not be exceptional at academics but have a talent in other fields such as sports, music, arts etc. Such students too need to be helped economically so that they can pursue their education while continuing to excel in their respective fields.

Criteria for scholarships

Economically weaker section- There is a large section of India which suffers from poverty and are unable to send their children to school. This not only increases the illiteracy level but also degrades the standard of living. For such suffering people the NGOs are at help and they provide scholarship for degree students and school level students as well.

Sports Scholarship- It’s not always necessary that a child has to be a scholar. There are always a few who have a greater inclination and towards sports or maybe something else. For such students too, there is a provision of scholarship.

Merit based- There are many organizations which are ready to provide scholarship for degree students in Bangalore, Delhi and many other cities. The merit based scholarship helps the bright children who can’t afford the expensive education of today’s time.

For Minority groups- Although Indian Constitution discards religious biases and caste system, there still needs a lot to be done towards empowering them as they are still backward. This scholarship is aimed at just that.

The government as well as the NGOs like Sitaram Jindal Foundation keep trying to create awareness about education and its importance at all level, Success comes in cumulative effort. However, SJF has been doing excellent work in this area and has helped many a student pursue his/her higher education.
