There are some outfits and accessories that are essential staples even if they are not used very frequently. A black tie is one such accessory which needs to be in every man’s closet. You can style a black tie in several ways to play with casual and formal dressing.

Although a black tie goes perfectly with black suit or a tuxedo, you can team it up carefully with other attires too. So, never underestimate your black tie and up your fashion game in different ways:

With a formal white shirt: Like a formal shirt is a fashion savior and goes well with a lot of apparels, a black tie is its perfect companion and makes for an eye-catchy fashion statement.

Loose it up a little: The noose of the tie plays a big game in dressing. An uptight noose formalizes your attire while you can loosen it up a little for a casual touch. If you are not looking for a formal look, you can also don it with a casual blazer and t-shirt for a day party.

Keep it casual: You can ditch a white shirt for casual shirts in calm colors and patterns. While the casual shirt will keep it a low-key, you black tie will put it in the right note with a balanced fashion statement.

Although easy to flaunt, a black tie also has some rules of dos and don'ts. If you don’t want to be called a fashion disaster, you must focus on these ways of how to wear black tie and what not to do.
*If you are going all sleek with a neat black suit or tux, your tie must be in sync with your attire. Don’t put your finger on a flashy or decorated piece that can ruin your attire completely
*Don’t exaggerate it with bow, west and blazer. You can tone it down a little by avoiding a bow and a tie together unless you have to stand as a bestman for your friend
*When you are flashing an all black look, avoid mixing different colors together. Your wrist watch, belt and shoes must always be of same color and material if possible
*Don’t overlook the fit of your tie specially when you are rooting for a formal attire, the noose and tie length must be on place
