Part 1:
WORLDWIDE OUTLOOK ON PROSTITUTION:

The most common stereotype of hookers is that they are all street walkers willing to accept a few dollars for their services, drug addicts controlled by pimps. In reality, this “oldest profession” falls into many categories. Yes, there are the street walking hookers whose life is awful, however, there are also those Prostitutes that provide sexual favours in massage parlours, hotels and out of their own flats and at the end of the spectrum you find working girls working for themselves and charging sums of money that can run into thousands of dollars for a night or even an hour...

prostitution is up to now illegal in many parts of the world but there are some countries like Holland that took a stand to officially legalise prostitution , Holland legalized sex-work in the mid-1800s but it wasn’t until the 1980s that sex work was recognized as a legally acceptable profession, bans on brothels and pimping were lifted and the industry is now controlled by labour law.prostitutes in Holland are registered workers, municipalities are responsible for issuing their licences and conducting inspections to ensure safe working conditions.

In Germany prostitution is legal and regulated, brothels are registered businesses requiring appropriate liquor and food licensing, if served, though surprisingly a brothel licence isn’t necessary, sex workers pay income taxes and must charge a value added tax (VAT) for their services.

In the majority of the nations however, sex work hasn’t got a clear definition and although its not accepted openly, its not criminalised either, in these countries you will not find people serving prison sentences for prostitution even when there are rare police arrests.

In other places, sex work itself may be legal, but much of the activities that surround it (such as operating a brothel, pimping, and soliciting in a public place) are illegal, often making it tricky for people to engage in sex work without breaking any law, this is the case in the UK, Italy and France.

In some nations women that work within the law enjoy huge benefits: better access to health care, protection from violent customers and protection from exploitation. Antwerp has apparently one of the best bordellos in Europe, equipped with their own police station and high tech sensors.

by keeping it illegal, America perpetuates an unsafe and unequal system that stigmatises and exploits sex workers, not to mention, there is widespread evidence that making sex work legal has significant public health benefits. making prostitution legal is a controversial subject in many places and in these places, some argue that decriminalizing sex work promotes an industry that degrades and abuses people, especially women. This may be a fair point but if you look at America, by keeping sex work illegal it has created an environment in which sex workers are subjected to violence, disease, ridicule and inequality.
