The Reading Habits of Ultra-Successful People

People that Law is the title of a collective photographic exhibition organized by Antonio Napoli and Paolo Benini, photographer, in April-May 2015, at the Library CE Gadda Melegnano and more recently in Milan, at the university bookstore Franco Angeli Bookshop in Milan.

The theme of reading framed by the camera lens.

The idea is taken in the minds of the founders, Antonio Napoli and Paolo Benini because the overdose of people that we see daily on transportation and not just literally hypnotized by the screen of their smartphone.

Obviously, a major transformation has taken place since the tram was pealing a newspaper or read a book on long hauls.

People that Law is a beautiful photographic exhibition which was attended by various authors.

A collection of classic taste images illustrating our relationship with reading, ranging in the various areas in which we can carry out this activity. The exhibition portrays a universe of individuals caught in one of the moments of the most personal, if you pay attention, within the framework of the common habits. Browse a book, read a novel, a message on a cell phone or an e-mail. A plunge into an inhabited inner world fundamentally by two subjects, both we and the text before us.

Take these pictures meant seize that moment of intimate communication between the reader and the book or mobile device in his hands.

In fact, here we are witnessing a sea change: from paper to electronic, from book, magazine, or newspaper that still survive in the brave supporters of tradition, something new offered by technological development: PC, tablet, mobile phone.

Un'esondazione of e-books, texts and messages in electronic format, now very present in our reality.

Is there a difference between the use of traditional means of communication and that object plastic rectangular, glass and silicon that we hold comfortably in your pocket and compulsion avidly during our travels on public transport, if it were necessary so as not to be able to do less?

Only a few days ago it has been a fun guerrilla reading aboard a tram in Milan: some volunteers suddenly and sequentially read passages from books, out loud, to shake the audience immersed in their cell.

Whether you are on the bus or sitting comfortably on the sofa in the waiting room of the doctor, how to cheat the waiting time? A daily newspaper, a book, a WhatsApp message, entertain us giving us a bit 'of relaxation, a time of transition from one activity to another, regardless of the experience that awaits us, simply bring us to a place or sit in the dentist's chair.

The photos in this collection are a good representation of these interludes of reading and multimedia character, a good example of the topical photograph that composes a fresco guessed the theme.

The authors of the images were able to capture some interesting special moment to form images with expressive content, the right mix of states of grace of unsuspecting readers protagonists, a dynamic rundown, pleasant.

A nice way to pilotarci in this technology that involves the reading experience, without destroying the tradition that remains alive in us.
