Xiaomi to launch third smartphone brand this month

 NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a new sub-brand later this month. The upcoming sub-brand is said to focus on the offline retail market. It will compete against other Chinese smartphone brands. After Mi and Redmi (which cater to the online segment), this would be Xiaomi's third sub-brand.

According to a report by Chinese news website MyDrivers, the new brand is likely to against Oppo and Vivo, both of which are subsidiaries of BBK Electronics.Along with this, an image of a new Xiaomi smartphone, which is expected to be launched under the third sub-brand, has leaked online. The image highlights the smartphone as having a dual-camera setup at the back. There are also antenna lines, highlighting similarities with the Oppo R11 Plus and the OnePlus 5. The handset is expected to launch later this month, along with the sub-brand.
