•     The Imperial Palace – The modern imperial palace sits upon the site of a former Edo castle. Although visitors may not typically enter the buildings that serve as the imperial family’s residence, ground tours are offered most days.

•    Tokyo National Museum – With nearly 100,000 national treasures housed within its walls, the Tokyo National Museum is considered one of the oldest and most important facilities of its kind in the entire country. A quick tour here may not be possible. The massive museum boasts six separate buildings, each dedicated to its own types of exhibits.

•    Tokyo Skytree – Tokyo’s modern architecture is a marvel to behold. This structure is perhaps one of the most breathtaking in the entire city. This landmarks doubles as a television broadcasting tower that soars more than 630 meters above the city. It is the tallest building in all of Japan. In addition to observation towers that offer panoramic views of the city, the complex features a shopping center and aquarium.

•    Shinjuku Gyoen – This city park stands as a monument to nature in the midst of a bustling metropolis. Featuring Japanese, English and French gardens, the park delivers a delightfully different pace. It is also considered one of the best places to see cherry blossoms each spring.
