Using the sun to get a natural tan can be very challenging especially given how tricky it can be to determine when you’ve had enough exposure. Having very pale skin can be a tanning problem especially if you are using the sun. However, you can still get a Gradual Tan even when your skin gets easily sunburned. Though fake tans can be applied quickly through sprays or some tanning lotions, having yours develop gradually is the best choice. The good news is that you can achieve this natural-looking tan by doing it all yourself. You should however get some assistance for those areas that you find hard to reach. The following are some tips to help you give yourself a natural-looking tan using sunless tanning lotions:

i.Pre-Tanning Lotions
Having a good foundation for your tan can go a long way in making it look more natural and perfect. The first step you should take before you expose yourself to Ultra-Violet in the tanning bed should be some pre-tanning lotions. This lotion application is meant to help you by moisturizing your skin, smoothening and exfoliating it.

The best pre-tanning lotions have ingredients that will help prepare your skin for the tanning process. A gradual tan will require that you use a lotion that contains essential oils, vitamins and botanicals. Since the heat of tanning can get your skin dry, moisturizing it enough will make it tan better than if it were dry.

ii.Application of the Amplifier
When you are exposing yourself to UV light in the tanning bed, your skin will still require some attention especially if the tan is to be perfect. For your tan to come out great, the UV rays have to penetrate your skin. Using an amplifier helps prevent the rays from bouncing on your body and not have any helpful effects in your tanning process.

The more the UV rays that penetrate your skin, the better you tan will be once it’s done. Reducing the reflection of your body by use of amplifiers will help a lot. For a Gradual Tan, there are some indoor tanning lotions that you can use to keep your skin tanning even after you are long gone from the tanning bed.

iii.After-Tanning Lotions
Once you are out of the tanning bed, you need to apply some after-tanning lotion to help keep your tan even among other things. As the tanning process uses heat, your skin will be dry and this lotion will help reduce any chances of skin flaking and/or peeling. Building up Gradual Tans can be very frustrating especially if you are looking for a quick fix.

Keeping your skin moist and healthy is very important for a successful process of indoor tanning. Some of the good lotions you could use include those that contain Aloe Vera. If you have the money to spare, you can go for designer indoor tanning lotions. These are very great since they are designed based on the specific needs of each skin type.

There are very many different types of tanning lotions in the market and you need to be careful when shopping for one. When looking for a good Gradual Tan, using a DHA (dihydroxyaceton) bronzer will be more effective than using natural bronzers. Natural bronzers are more of instant results kind of tanning lotions.
