How to Overcome Fire Safety

There are 3 (three) ways to overcome / extinguish the fire:

How to decompose the way to extinguish by separating or keep the material / objects that can burn
The way of cooling is how to extinguish the fire safety by lowering the heat or temperature. The most dominant water is used in reducing heat by spraying or splashing water at the spark.
How Isolation / localization is the way of fire suppression by reducing the level / percentage of O2 on burning objects.

Fire safety Extinguishers A wide range of firefighting materials currently in use today include:

Water Extinguishers
Foam Extinguishers (Foam)
CO2 Gas Extinguishers
Dry powder extinguishers (Dry chemical)
Halon Gas Extinguishers (BCF)

Water Extinguishers
Water extinguishers are easy to obtain, low prices, can be used in unlimited quantities and even do not need to buy / free.

Water in addition to lowering the heat / temperature (cooling) can also withstand / reject and expel the entry of oxygen when dikabutkan.

At present, water firefighting materials are widely used with fog / hogging systems (Fog), because they have some advantages over water jets, among others:

Have the ability to absorb heat (cooling) more large. 1 liter of water emitted can absorb 30 kcal heat, whereas when atomized 1 liter of water can be as much as 1600 lit steam and will absorb heat up to 300 kcal.
Peyemprotan nozzel is more easily controlled, with a jet beam can be controlled even the fog system (fog)
Produce fresh air
Can be used in oil fire safety (Liquid)

Advantages and disadvantages of aqueous materials:

Advantages:
1. as a good cooling medium
2. easy to obtain and large amount
3. low exploitation costs

Disadvantages:
1. conducting electricity
2. the use of the vessel may disrupt the balance (stability)
3. can damage certain valuable goods such as electronic appliances
4. increase heat when exposed to copra carbets, or certain chemicals

Foam Extinguishers (Foam)

Effective foam extinguishers to extinguish class B fires (oil, diesel and liquid), to extinguish less severe class (A Class) fires, As we know that fire extinguisher with foam material is by isolation that prevents the entry of air in fire safety, By covering / covering the surface of a burning object so that the flame does not flow.

According to the manufacturing process there are two types of foam:

Chemical foam
Foam mechanically- Foam less suitable for spray on the surface of the liquid easily mixed with water (Alcohol, spirtus) because the foam easily soluble in water

CO2 Gas Extinguishers

CO2 or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are gaseous and can be used to extinguish any type of fire especially class C. By exhaling CO2 gas will be able to dissipate and reduce the percentage of oxygen (O2) that is present to 12% - 15% - CO2 gas is heavier than On air and like other gases do not conduct electricity, odorless and leave no marks / clean.

Extinguishing materials Powdered dry chemical (drychemical)

Dry chemical can be used for all types of fires, Not hazardous to humans / animals due to non-toxicity,

Dry chemical substances are referred to as dual purpose fire safety extinguishers (multi purpose extinguisher)

Not conducting electricity, Powder serves to bind oxygen (isolation) and can also bind other harmful gases.
Can lower the temperature, Easy to clean and does not damage the tools,

How to use dry chemical is almost the same as CO2 gas is as follows:

First to note the presence / direction of the wind, if the wind is blowing too strong then the use of dry chemical is not efficient.
Direct the jet of flame cutter and try to form a kind of cloud / smoke to close the flame.

Halon Gas Extinguishers (BCF)
Light Fire Extinguisher Halon 1211 (BCF / Carbon, Flourine, Chlorine, Bromide).
Halon 1211 (BCF) is usually installed on office walls in the form of Light Fire safety Extinguishers (APAR) and effectively used in the room, because in fire fighting is isolating oxygen, in addition halon gas is very good because it is not destructive and clean.
